With a non-committal boyfriend, the hopes of settling down have eluded Hazel. You could say she was in a denial stage. At the same time she didn’t want the fortnightly emotional roller coaster ride from her relationship. She wanted to stay away from everything and everyone. She took to alcohol and drugs.
She appeared normal to everyone, but in her privacy she would want to forget the entire world. It is not anger towards her boyfriend. It is anger on self, for getting into such a situation.
She performed all her duties even in her depression; she just didn’t want to face anyone. She couldn’t face herself. Slowly but surely, it is eating her. She is just counting days…….
